Omnison is seeking a dynamic and committed individual to fill the position of Chief electrical technician.
Job Description
Reporting to the Technical Coordinator, the Chief electrical technician ensures the proper deployment of lighting operations. To do so, the person directs assigned technicians during set-up and tear-down. The incumbent keeps the technical inventory related to his/her department up to date and sees to its maintenance. If necessary, he or she also acts as an operator during events.
The incumbent will be called upon to work in different locations.
General Responsibilities
- Prepare and plan technical setups in collaboration with coordination;
- Monitor the availability, inventory and proper functioning of equipment;
- Design lighting plans for specific events;
- Organize and supervise the work of technical staff under his/her responsibility and ensure that it is performed according to established industry standards of quality, safety and efficiency;
- Actively participate in the set-up and tear-down of events;
- Analyze and propose concrete solutions to any technical problems related to his/her expertise;
- Program and operate the lighting console according to the client's or production's needs;
- Evaluate personnel under his/her responsibility;
- Participate and collaborate in the needs, tasks of other technical departments;
- Perform any other related tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Have a college degree in a technique related to technical operations or any other combination of relevant training;
- Have at least three (3) years of experience as a stage technician;
- Have a strong knowledge of technical equipment related to the electrical department including Grand MA, ETC and Whole HOG consoles would be an asset.
