Omnison is looking for a dynamic and committed individual to fill the position of Chief sound technician.
Job Description
Reporting to the Technical Director, the Chief sound technician acts as the primary resource in his/her field of specialization in order to implement the final technical specification for sound. He/she also participates in the installation and dismantling of equipment and may also be called upon to operate the sound consoles during certain shows or events.
This position will be called upon to work in various venues.
General Responsibilities
- Prepare and plan technical setups in collaboration with coordination;
- Ensure the availability, inventory and good working order of equipment;
- Assess sound needs, make connections and operate sound consoles during certain shows or special events;
- Organize and supervise the work of the technical staff under his/her responsibility and ensure that it is performed according to the quality, safety and efficiency standards established in the industry;
- Actively participate in the set-up and tear-down of events;
- Analyze and propose concrete solutions to any technical problems related to his/her expertise;
- Program and operate sound consoles as needed by the client or production;
- Evaluate personnel under his/her responsibility;
- Participate and collaborate in the needs, tasks of other technical departments;
- Perform any other related tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Schooling: degree in stage management and techniques or equivalent experience;
- Have at least three (3) years of experience as a stage technician;
